The International Program offers an outstanding opportunity for emerging bilingual students to improve their spoken and written English skills in an exciting summer setting. Students come from countries around the world. They are grouped by age and improve their English skills by reading, writing, singing, playing creative games, and exploring the local community together. This fantastic English immersion experience will be supplemented by enrichment classes in art and music, as well as by several weekly visits to nearby parks and sprinklers. A sensitive, mature, and experienced staff will constantly supervise the group as students not only gain language skills and confidence, but also learn to cooperate, share, and make new friends ...in English!

Dianna Leahy, an English as a second language teacher for the Chelsea Public schools, is committed to language acquisition, academic success, multi-cultural understanding, and personal growth. She has a master's degree in teaching English as a second language and has taught children and adults from all over the world. Dianna is returning to SmartSummers for a second year as director and a third year as one of the staff.
