Five Easy Ways to Register

  1. Call us 24 hours a day at (617) 730-2700
    Our staff will be happy to complete your registration by telephone using MasterCard, VISA, or Discover Card. Have your course and credit card information ready.

  2. Write
    Mail in your registration to:
    BA&CEP, P.O. Box 150, Brookline, MA 02446
    Please include a personal check or money order (payable to the Town of Brookline) or provide your MasterCard, Visa, or Discover Card information.

  3. Come In
    Register in person at our office in Room 101, Brookline High School, 115 Greenough Street.
    Our office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday.


  4. Fax
    Register anytime by faxing your registration to us at (617) 730-2674. Be sure to include your MasterCard, VISA, or Discover Card number.

  5. Online

Registration Fee

A $6 registration fee is charged once per person per semester. This fee helps fund scholarships so that all can participate. The fee does not apply to courses of $15 or less.



Course Admission

BA&CEP courses are open to participants 16 years of age and over. You are officially enrolled and your name is placed upon the class roster as soon as we receive your registration form and payment. We do not send written confirmations, but we will call you if there is any problem with your registration or changes that you should know about. Unless we call, please assume that you are enrolled in the classes of your choice.



Room Assignments

Room assignments will be posted in the building where the class is scheduled on the first night of class.



Scholarships

Partial tuition-remission is available for those in need of scholarship assistance. Disabled veterans, persons on Social Security Disability (SSI), or receiving AFDC receive a 30 percent discount on course fees upon presenting a letter of verification or veterans' identification. Call 730-2700 for more information.



Residents of Other Communities

Residents of other communities are welcome to enroll in all of our courses at the same low tuition rates as residents. All discounts and scholarships apply to non-residents as well.



English as a Second Language Students

For new English as a Second Language students, a placement test is offered to help students enter the correct course or level. Placement tests are required of all new students except those wanting to sign up for Beginning Level 1 or 2. Placement tests can be taken anytime the office is open. Please come to Room 101 in Brookline High School, 115 Greenough Street.

Senior Citizen Discount

Persons over sixty-five pay receive 30 percent discount on courses except where indicated. This discount does not apply to special courses co-sponsored by the Council on Aging, which are noted. To take advantage of our senior citizen discount, please write your Council on Aging I.D. Number, or date of birth, in the space provided on the registration form.



Bring a Friend Discount

If you are a current student, bring in a friend with you when you register for a class and you will receive a 10% off your course tuition. You must be listed in our database to be considered a current student. Your friend must be new to BA&CEP, and registrations must be concurrent for you to receive your discount. You and your friend may register in person, by phone or fax. The discount must be used in the current term, is not transferable, and cannot be combined with other discounts, waivers, or scholarships.



Handicapped Access

Gift Certificates

Brookline Adult and Community Education courses, special events, and workshops make wonderful gifts. You may purchase a certificate for any amount up to full tuition in any course in ou catalog. Certificates are good anytime, are non-refundable, and can't be replaced if lost or stolen.
