The cello has the widest range of sound of any string instrument, and its lyricism and depth of tone have captivated audiences for centuries. It also stands out as a physically relaxing instrument to play, as the proper position for playing the cello is a natural cradling pose. We'll begin by understanding the cello, learning how to handle the instrument, and experiencing its depths, tones, and wide capabilities. Using a selection of introductory pieces, we will learn basic fingerings and how to use the bow. We'll progress toward playing duets and finished works that demonstrate the cello's versatility. Please bring a cello, bow, and rock stop to the first class. Sheet music will be provided.

Please note: Some courses may have an additional materials fee payable to the instructor that is not included in the total fee. Please contact the school for details.

Please be sure to read our Refund, Transfer, and Withdrawal policy before registering for a class.

A $6 registration fee is charged once per person per semester. This fee helps fund scholarships so that all can participate. The fee does not apply to courses of $15 or less.
